It doesn't snow like this all the time, but when it does it's beautiful. You can sled or ski right out the front door with cross country skis and go for miles, drive 30-40 minutes to the Catalooche Ski Area, a great place to ski, or sit in front of the fireplace and read a book. We love to take long hikes in the snow.

Winter is a great season to take the time to still our minds, as nature strives to still herself.

...surround us. Daring us to throw a snowball, make a snowman, or a snow angel. To ride a sled, to laugh and play like children. Or you could just get in the hot tub!

Take a winter break and come to to the mountains for a week, get in some skiing, some hiking, some hot tubbing, and recharge! Whether there is snow on the ground or not, Highwoods is a beautiful winter escape!
